Sophie Howery is a first-year student in The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. She is studying Russian and East European Studies with a concentration in Language, Literature, and Culture. Only 10 minutes away from the nation's capital, Sophie is from the DC Area and has lived in Macedonia, Serbia, Germany, and France. She loves learning about new cultures and foreign languages. In terms of law, Sophie is interested in exploring legal systems in Russia and Eastern Europe and mass incarceration in the US. Through the Roundtable, she is eager to bring a fresh perspective on these topics.
