Born and raised in the suburbs of New York, Gautam Narasimhan (W'16) is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing a major in Economics through The Wharton School, with a triple concentration in Finance, Marketing & Operations Management, and Statistics, as well as a minor in Mathematics. Gautam has always had a passion for writing and journalistic endeavors, starting with a research paper he coauthored on glaucomatous eyes at Westchester Medical Center. Apart from his involvement in the journal, he had previously served as an advertising representative and subsequently as the Marketing Manager of The Daily Pennsylvanian, the university’s flagship student-run newspaper. In addition, he has done consulting work for the NorthShore-LIJ Hospital System, where he worked in the summer of 2013 on a variety of efficiency and safety related projects. Gautam has always been a quantitatively-oriented person, and hopes to put these skills to use in a career in banking or consulting. He spent the summer of 2014 interning at Nomura Structured Financial Services, where he coauthored a paper on algorithmic trading strategies and researched non-deliverable forward markets. He was also selected for the 2014 Young Leaders Program at Ernst & Young, focusing primarily on advisory services within the Financial Services Office. Most recently, Gautam interned in the New York office of Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant Intern within the Private Equity Group.
