Your vote on the structure of Editor-in-Chief elections is required.

Please see the summaries below for how each voting scheme will be structured. Email/text me or Gautam for questions if this isn't clear. It's essential you understand these structures before voting.

VOTING SCHEME 1 – Every board members casts one vote. Each journal department – editorial, blog, comm, and business – casts a vote for one candidate that counts for one. For instance, we have 12 associate editors at the moment. If 7 out of 12 associate editors vote in favor of candidate A, one vote would go toward candidate A. Under this scheme there will be a total of 11 (board votes) + 4 (departments votes) = 15 total votes. This weighs the votes of all departments equally, but diminishes the weight of individual votes for non-board members from larger departments.

In instances of vote ties for a department, department managers will meet with junior members and discuss the candidates until they settle on a group vote.

VOTING SCHEME 2 – Each journal member casts one vote in favor of their preferred EIC candidate. Individual votes are given equal weight under this scheme, but it unequally favors the votes of journal larger departments.
