Akshita Tiwary is a 3rd year BLS. LL.B. student at Government Law College, Mumbai, India. She is interested in international law, international relations and human rights, and hopes to pursue these subjects as part of her higher studies. An enthusiastic public speaker, Akshita has judged and won awards at several Model United Nations conferences. As the Secretary of the Moot Court Association, she has been an active participant in Moot Court Competitions, most notably the Oxford Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, 2019. Currently, Akshita serves as an Assistant Editor, Staff Writer and Chief of Staff (India) for JURIST, University of Pittsburgh, USA. She has many publications to her name, including a publication each with the Berkeley Journal of International Law and the Fletcher Forum of World Affairs. A dedicated student, Akshita’s future aspiration is to work at the United Nations to further the cause of global peace. In her free time, she loves dancing (having trained professionally as a Kathak dancer) and curling up in bed with a nice book!
