Director of Web & Design
Justin Chang, a resident of California, is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Fine Arts and Design. Starting as Chief Engineer for his high school’s robotic team, Justin's has retained a longstanding interest in engineering and design. While interning in the Materials Science Department at UCLA during high school, he took his first CAD design and drafting class and learned Autodesk Inventor and manual drafting techniques even before starting his education at Penn. His designs and photographs have garnered a number of awards at Penn, and he was recruited to work as a Marketing Graphic Designer at The Daily Pennsylvanian and the Director of Web & Design for The Penn Undergraduate Law Journal. During the 2013 summer, Justin interned as a drafter and a designer at SmartAvi – a company specialized in making HDMI splitters for big-industry companies, such as NASA and Pixar. This internship helped hone his designing skills, and he is now an expert in engineering programs such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor. He also has experience with graphic programming, especially with Wordpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. During the semester, Justin continues his design work as an off-site intern for Vanilla Vision, a web design company, and as a Solidworks consultant for SmartAvi. He hopes to combine his interests in both engineering and graphics to pursue a career the areas of copyright and patent law.
